Srilanka

Srilanka is an island country in South Asia, which was formerly known as Ceylon. It lies in the Indian Ocean, southwest of the Bay of Bengal. Sri Lanka shares a maritime border with the Maldives in the south-west and India in the north-west. It is the democratic country, where the majority of the population are from the Sinhalese ethnicity, but the minority is Tamil which also has an influential role in the island’s history. Colombo is the capital city of Srilanka.
