Kathmandu is the capital city and the most populous city of Nepal. It lies in the hilly region & it is surrounded by mountains. It lies at an elevation of 4,344 feet from the Sea Level. The term ‘Kathmandu’ is comprised of two words: Kath and Mandap. Kath refers to wood, whereas Madap refers to temple. Kathmandu is the business and commercial hup of Nepal. Bhaktapur is a part of Bagmati Province & a neighboring district to Kathmandu & Lalitpur. It is the smallest district of Nepal. It is famous for religious, cultural and historical heritages. It is rich in ancient arts, religious values, fabulous cultural traditions, architectural masterpieces and ancient sculptures. It is also known as open museum. Moreover, it is also famous as a city of gods. Bhaktapur has a cluster of temples, pagodas, monuments, courtyard, squares. traditional houses, artistic stones, taps, also Buddhist shrines and monasteries built in different times of the history. Newari life style and their fabulous traditions and rituals are reflected in Bhaktapur. Five storied temple, Bhaktapur durbar Square, Changunarayan Temple, 55 Windows Durbar, (Palace) Dattatraya Area and Siddhapokhari are some of the major attractions of Bhaktapur.

Nagarkot is 27 kilometers east from Kathmandu. It famous for a sunrise view of the Himalayas including Mount Everest as well as other peaks of the Himalayan range of eastern Nepal. Nagarkot also offers a panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley. The scenic beauty of the place makes it a very popular hiking route for tourists.

Lalitpur/Patan is historically known as Patan and is the fourth most populated city of Nepal. It is the neighboring city to Kathmandu and Bhaktapur. It is best known for its rich cultural heritage, particularly its tradition of arts and crafts. It is city renowned for its festival and feast, fine ancient art, and the making of metallic, wood and stone carved statues. Patan Durbar Square is the main attraction of Lalitpur which is listed as the UNESCO Heritage Sites

Pashupatinath Temple is one of the 8 UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the Kathmandu Valley. It is the holiest and largest shrines for Hindus.The religious hub of 492 temples, 15 Shivalayas (shrines of Lord Shiva) and 12 Jyotirlinga (phallic shrines) are located 3km north west of Kathmandu on the banks of Bagmati River. The great Pashupatinath Temple was built in the 5th century and is one of the four most important religious sites in Asia. The architecture includes the main pagoda-style with a gilded roof, four sides covered in silver, and wood carvings of the finest quality. Only Hindus are allowed inside are allowed inside the gates of the main temple and visitors are requested to respect the religious rules and regulations.

Patan Durbar Square is situated at the center of Lalitpur. It is one of the three Durbar Square in Kathmandu Valley and all of them are the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. One of its attractions is the ancient royal palace where the Malla Kings of Lalitpur resided. The Durbar Square is best known for Newar Culture and architecture. The square floor is tiled with red bricks. There are many temples and statues in the area. The Patan Palace Museum, Golden Temple and Krishna Temple are the best-known attractions of Durbar Square.
