Mumbai, also known as Bombay, is the capital city of the Indian state of Maharashtra. Mumbai is the financial, commercial, and the entertainment capital of India as it generates 6.16% of the total GDP. It is also one of the world’s top ten centers of commerce in terms of global financial flow. Mumbai is the second-most populous city in India after Delhi and the eighth-most populous city in the world. A resident of Mumbai is called Mumbaikar in Marathi, in which the suffix -kar means a resident of. Mumbai has a tropical climate. Marathi is the official language and the working language in bureaucracy of the city along with English and Hindi.

Bangalore, officially Bengaluru is the capital and largest city of the Indian state of Karnataka. It is the third most populous city and the largest city in South India. It is known as the “ Garden City of India” because of its greenery, broad streets, and presence of many public parks, such as Lal Bagh and Cubbon Park. Bangalore lies in the southeast of the South Indian state of Karnataka. The official language of Bangalore is Kannada, spoken by 42.05% of the population. The second-largest language is Tamil, spoken by 16.34% of the population. 13.73% speak Telugu, 13.00% Urdu, 4.64% Hindi, 3.16% Malayalam and 2.05% have Marathi as their first language. The major communities of Bangalore are the Telugus and Tamilians. Bangalore is home to the Kannada film industry, which produces about 200 Kannada feature films each year.

Goa is a state on the southwestern coast of India within the Konkan region, geographically separated from the Deccan highlands by the Western Ghats. It is located between the Indian states of Maharashtra to the north and Karnataka to the east and south, with the Arabian Sea forming its western coast. It is India’s smallest state by area and its fourth-smallest by population. Goa has the highest GDP per capita among all Indian states, two and a half times as high as the GDP per capita of the country as a whole. Panaji is the state’s capital, while Vasco da Gama is its largest city. Goa is visited by large numbers of international and domestic tourists each year because of its white-sand beaches, active nightlife, places of worship, and World Heritage-listed architecture. The state is divided into two civil districts—North Goa and South Goa. A native of Goa is called a Goan.
